Ready to refresh your child’s wardrobe, books or toy collection this summer? Before you buy new, join us for an exciting afternoon of sustainable swapping and donating baby and kid’s items.
How to get involved:
· Check session times below and register for your preferred session via THIS LINK
· bring quality clothes, books and toys that are suitable for children under 8 years old
· contribute up to 6 clothing pieces AND 6 books and/or toys in the swap (12 items total). For each item you bring, you will receive a token which can be used to select another item
· have more than 12 items or only want to donate? Dandelion Support Network Inc will be present to accept additional quality clothing, books and toys throughout the session. These items will be rehomed to vulnerable families in our community.
Session 1:
· Donations drop-off from 1.30 pm
· swap check-in from 1.30 pm – 2 pm
· swap runs from 2 pm – 2.45 pm.
Session 2:
· Donations drop-off from 3 pm
· swap check-in from 3 pm – 3.30 pm
· swap runs from 3.30 pm – 4.15 pm.
Guidelines:
This is a FREE event for Blacktown Council residents only.
Due to limited capacity, residents cannot attend both sessions. Please ensure you have registered for the correct session time.
Please note that there is a quality screening process for items accepted for the swap and donations drop-off. Clothing and soft toys must be in excellent condition, meaning pre-washed and free from rips, holes, stains or major faults. All books and toys should be clean and in working order; battery operated toys must work and have batteries included.
Items to bring:
· Baby and children's clothes suitable from birth (00000) - 8 years (kids size 10)
· quality books, puzzles, dolls and other toys suitable for children under 8 years old.
Items NOT to bring:
· Underwear, socks and swimwear
· anything stained, torn, unclean or broken
· unwashed soft or cloth toys
· small parts that could be a choking hazard.
If the event is showing sold out, please register for the waitlist and you will be notified when a ticket becomes available. If you are no longer able to attend, please cancel your booking online or contact us on 9839 5182 or at sustainable.resources@blacktown.nsw.gov.au.
